On Saturday, November 21st, our friends at CHART Metalworks are having a trunk show in our store from 1PM-5PM…what exactly is CHART?? Read on!

CHART Metalworks  is a jewelry business run by owners/designers Charlotte Leavitt and John Guptill on Portland’s waterfront. They create custom jewelry pieces set in bronze or sterling silver made with nautical chart map locations as the focus. The chart is set into a pendant, earring, cuff link, etc. and a sturdy, long-lasting boaters resin is poured over it creating a slight magnification of the chart. Every piece is custom made so no two pieces are alike! You choose a chart location, they send you a proof, and the whole process generally takes 2-3 weeks. If ordered at the Chart Trunk show you will have them by Christmas. Prices range; pendants for $85, earrings $115 for example. Custom creations other than the originals displayed cost $25.

They make GREAT holiday gift ideas for that special someone that you share memories with on the coast of Maine or any other nautical location on the East and West coast of North America, Hawaii, Alaska, parts of the Caribbean, the Great Lakes, navigational waterways and some larger lakes such as Lake Tahoe. Celebrate those special summer memories with your family and friends. They also make great wedding attendants gifts!
